This blend is a harmonious mix of two outstanding coffees. The first is a Peruvian gem from the farm of Elver Coronel, known for its deep, complex flavours. The second is a unique Nicaraguan coffee from Finca Santa Maria de Lourdes, a farm steeped in history and dedication. Owned by Octavio Peralta since 1970, this farm has overcome significant challenges, including serving as a war zone during the Sandinista uprising. After the area was cleared of mines by the UN in the late 1980s, Octavio began restoring coffee production in this wild, natural region. His commitment to preserving the environment is evident—half of the farm’s arable land is reserved exclusively for maintaining and enhancing the natural habitat, earning it a Rainforest Alliance certification.
The Nicaraguan coffee in The Gospel Blend undergoes a unique processing method: raised bed natural with extended anaerobic cherry fermentation. This meticulous process, combined with the care and expertise of the Peralta family, results in a coffee that is as complex as it is delicious. The Peraltas have a rich coffee-growing history dating back to the early 20th century, but it was only in 2008 that Julio and Octavio Peralta shifted their focus to developing unique specialty preparations. We’re proud to bring their microlots and special preparations to Europe, showcasing their dedication to specialty coffee innovation.
